Carriers

There are two main ways that ORDERactive has been integrated in order to automate the use of carriers.  The top level of integration is to act as a carrier supplied PC and produce all labels and manifests as though ORDERactive is a carrier supplied workstation running their software.  This allows you to save time by not having to key the information into 2 separate systems (or even recording the information manually) and also gives you a better level of service to give to your customers.

Once ORDERactive has created the tracking information for a delivery this can be e-mailed to the customer as part of an automated despatch confirmation e-mail and embedded in a link to allow the customers to see where there parcel is.  This information can also be sent back to the web site to allow the customers to see the tracking information as part of their order history and again to allow them to click through to the carrier’s site to see the status of their parcel.

The alternative way that ORDERactive integrates to carriers is to write data exports that are created automatically and send those to a location that the carrier PC polls to automatically produce the despatch paperwork via the carriers own electronic manifesting software.  Using these systems the customer can still be sent a link to track their own parcel using their order number or other similar identifier instead of the carrier consignment number.
