Direct dispatch

The simplest way to do direct dispatch (or drop shipping) from ORDERactive is to provide the third party with an ORDERactive dispatch confirm license and a connection to your database. User rights can be set so that their warehouse users can only dispatch goods or put them onto warehouse back order and can not do anything else to your system. The biggest advantage to working this way is that it is a real time solution, you have full control of all of the dispatch paperwork and it’s appearance and no further interfaces need to be written which can add time, cost and complexity to a solution.
This can work either by installing the application directly on PCs at the third party and creating connections back to your database or by using a tool such as Microsoft Terminal services so which they can then access to do the dispatching.
If this is a step too far for your third party suppliers ORDERactive can be used to create reports of third party products that have been sold so that the purchase orders can be placed or the third parties can be set as separate warehouses. As long as they are separated ORDERactive can provide a feed to the supplier via files or data transfer and is also capable of reading files from the third parties to automatically update what has been dispatched.
